This is a traditional Irish song, about a mother calling her son, who has left for the Protestant faith, back. The arrangement sets the song simply, with homophonic outer verses bracketing a melody-and-accompaniment texture in the middle, to let the text through. It needs a certain rhythmic flexibility within the pulse to follow the Irish text and traditional melodic flourishes.

The arrangement was commissioned by Ireland Unlimited.
